Advise and appearance before administrative agencies, handling arbitrations, drafting contracts and policies, handling labor negotiations, consultation, investigation and defense of employee discrimination and harassment claims, among others. Public Interest and Public Agency Issues –Successful civil prosecution of public interest challenges to a wide variety of actions by public entities – including securing compliance with The Public Records Act, The Brown Act and challenges to permit matters and other types of official actions by public entities and public officers. Appellate Practice – Nearly 20 years experience handling civil appeals and writs. Admitted before the United States Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and all California State appellate courts. Published appellate decisions include two California Supreme Court cases, briefing as a friend of the court to the U.S. Supreme Court, and several published decisions in the California Court of Appeal.
